Will Smith has given an insight into the terrifying extent of the wildfire that has hit California near his $42 million (£32 million) property in Malibu.

The 50-year-old said that 18-year-old daughter Willow had been left nervous and asked him to look outside as the Woolsey wildfire, which is currently spreading throughout California, edges closer to their property.

The Suicide Squad star showed his social media followers on Friday what they were dealing with in a video.

He said on Instagram: ‘So I’m going up to a higher place to take a look out at the fire.

‘We’re probably about 8 miles away from it. We haven’t been told to evacuate just yet but Willow is nervous so she made me go outside and look make a daddy assessment.’

The Pursuit of Happyness actor then panned the camera to show how his home was not far from the looming clouds of smoke.

‘Our house is there… and the fire is right there. That is very scary. We are prepared to evacuate as soon as we get the word.

‘If you are in the evacuation zone, go now.’ he warned.

He later said: ‘We are not in the evacuation zone but I don’t like it so we are going to go.’

Meanwhile, Caitlyn Jenner has assured fans she is safe after her house was hit by devastating wildfires.

The 68-year-old’s Malibu mansion was reportedly burned down in the Woolsey fire that is spreading throughout California.

And while Caitlyn doesn’t know whether her home has made it, she and girlfriend Sophia Hutchins – and their dogs – are safe and sound.

The former Olympian shared a video on Instagram, in which she said: ‘Hi, Caitlyn and Sophia here. Well, we’re safe. At a safe house.

‘Don’t know if the house made it or not, it’s still up in the air.’

Over 250,000 residents in Southern California have been forced to evacuate as the fires rip through the region.

Caitlyn’s stepdaughters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian all evacuated their homes.

Kim and husband Kanye West’s Hidden Hills home was believed to be in the path of the fire, but thankfully has now been contained.

The mother-of-three tweeted: ‘I heard the flames have hit our property at our home in Hidden Hills but now are more contained and have stopped at the moment.

‘It doesn’t seems like it is getting worse right now, I just pray the winds are in our favour. God is good. I’m just praying everyone is safe.

‘Fire Fighters, I love you and thank you for doing all that you can to keep us safe!’

Other celebs who have evacuated their homes include Lady Gaga and Alyssa Milano.

The West Wing actor Martin Sheen has been found safe after evacuating the Malibu home he shares with wife Janet; his son Charlie had earlier issued a desperate plea asking for help in contacting him
