The supporter tweeted ‘If Origi scores then I’ll get a “Divock” tattoo’ and the striker did just that with an injury time winner in the Merseyside derby
A Liverpool fan has given himself a permanent reminder of Divock Origi’s Merseyside derby heroics by getting the striker’s name tattooed on his leg.
With the match against Everton looking destined to end in a stalemate, Origi came off the bench to capitalise on a mistake from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and head in a stoppage-time winner.
Prior to the match, a supporter by the name of ‘ForeverRed98’ posted on Twitter: “If Origi scores then I’ll get a ‘Divock’ tattoo.”
True to his word, the fan went ahead with his outrageous claim and paid his local tattoo shop a visit to have ‘D1v0ck’ marked on his quadricep, with the scoreline of 1-0 cleverly incorporated in the colours of blue and red.
Keeping curious fans updated, he posted a series of pictures to show the aftermath of his session, with his leg covered and looking rather tender.
Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Burnley next and Origi could be in line to start his first match since May 2017.
However, Sunday’s victory is one Liverpool fans, and this one in particular, are unlikely to forget anytime soon.
