The talkSPORT Breakfast co-host won two Premier League titles and four FA Cup’s during his 13-stint in north London
Arsenal favourite David Seaman says dressing room selfies should only be for cup winning moments.
The former goalkeeper was speaking to talkSPORT about the Gunners squad celebrating their north London derby win over Tottenham by posting them on various social media channels.
It is not the first time Arsenal players have used Twitter and Instagram to celebrate a victory in such a way, and ex-England keeper Seaman admitted he isn’t a fan of it.
The Sports Breakfast co-host won two Premier League titles and four FA Cup’s during his 13-stint in north London, and believes such celebrations should only occur when the club land silverware.
He said: “It doesn’t sit well with me. In my day that wouldn’t have happened after winning a game, that’s for sure.
“I’ve got plenty of pictures like that in my front room… but there was a trophy at the front of them!
“I can understand that it’s against Spurs and emotions are running high, but it’s premature celebrations for me.
“Arsenal are on a great run at the moment, but those sort of things should only happen when you’ve won something.”
The 4-2 success over Mauricio Pochettino’s men extended Arsenal’s unbeaten run to 19 games in all competitions.
Unai Emery’s men travel to Manchester United tonight hoping to cement their top-four spot.
Pochettino echoed Seaman’s comments when asked what he thought about Arsenal’s celebrations.
“When the people celebrate like this, it’s because people respect you and see you as a big club,” the Spurs manager said.
