Ariana Grande seemingly to put Pete Davidson on blast on Thursday after he asked musician Maggie Rogers to marry him during a Saturday Night Live skit.
The pop singer appeared to drag her ex-fiance about staying ‘relevant’ just hours after a promo teased Pete’s premature proposal gag.
Ariana tweeted: ‘For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh.’
She then wrote ‘Thank u, next’ and retweeted a fan message that said: ‘Tag urself I’m Maggie’.
Further hinting that the outburst was directed at Pete, she reposted a fan message that said: ‘Idk why y’all feel the need to dig up her old tweets about him like. They were in love at some point but shit happened. Life will go on…’
Ariana seemed to think twice about her messages and deleted them after around an hour.
Unlike Ariana, Alaska singer Maggie instantly declined Pete’s offer, which seemed to mock his Day 1 marriage proposal to Ariana, when they first met back in May.
It was filmed as part of a trailer for Jonah Hill’s forthcoming SNL hosting stint, which airs tomorrow.
Poking fun at himself and his whirlwind engagement, comedian Pete turned to this week’s music guest to say: ‘Hi Maggie, I’m Pete. Do you want to get married?’
Earlier this year, Pete admitted that he asked Ariana to pick out engagement rings on the first day he met her.
They announced their plans to wed in June, after just three weeks of dating, but by mid-October the whirlwind relationship was over.
Until now, Ariana has stayed quiet about the unexpected split yet comedian Pete has made light of the situation in comedy skits.
Two weeks ago, during a benefit event in Los Angeles, he told a crowd: ‘[I feel like] a good guy that just keeps getting kicked in the dick.’
‘You’re like, “Ah, that fucking poor kid. Hope he doesn’t kill himself.”’
Us Weekly claims he then joked about his living arrangements, after leaving the Manhattan home he shared with Ariana.
‘Anybody have any open rooms? I’m looking for a roommate.’
